Greenwood Gardens Photography Policies
Commercial Photography
Greenwood Gardens is available for commercial photography. Located less than an hour from New York City, Greenwood Gardens is a beautiful and nationally significant early twentieth century landscape. Set within a preserve of forest and meadow, the landscape at Greenwood combines formal Italianate gardens, rustic mossy pathways, and colorful Arts and Crafts ornamentation. This serene and timeless 28-acre setting provides a unique backdrop for commercial photography. Reservations are required and fees do apply. For more information, please contact us at 973-258-4026 or via email.
Amateur Photography
Greenwood Gardens' visitors are welcome to take still outdoor photographs for private, noncommercial use during tours and public events. To preserve the landscape of Greenwood Gardens, we ask that photographers follow the same rules as all of our visitors: to remain on the pathways; to not enter the flower beds; to not disturb or remove plants, plant labels or containers; and to not climb or walk on, trees, shrubs, plants, fences, walls, or other garden features. To ensure that pedestrians can safely walk on the pathways, we also ask that amateur photographers not use camera accessories including camera tripods, monopods, lighting, large reflectors, and other tools for staging shots.
Professional Photography
At this time, Greenwood Gardens is not issuing photography permits to professional photographers. This includes wedding photography, individual or family portraits, product photography, or portfolio photography.
Greenwood Gardens reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to withhold and/or withdraw permission to photograph on its premises or to reproduce photographs of its landscape.
Greenwood Gardens Facility Rental
Greenwood Gardens is not currently available for private events or ceremonies. When the first phase of the restoration is complete in 2013, Greenwood Gardens intends to provide the opportunity for limited private event rental.
